Final Draft Mobile App Reviews

I use this in conjunction with my desktop version of FD9 and Dropbox and it always works seamlessly. It is easy to jump back and forth from devices without losing any data. Being able to write a scene here and there on my phone is invaluable when you just need to get it out of your head. Works for me.

Im enjoying this app. But I get conflicting document errors. I have to duplicate the file and save it as a different name. Final Draft has around four conflicted copy versions of the script listed. But only one file is showing in the Dropbox app. So there isnt a way to delete them. Some times DropBox doesnt even list the script at all if viewed in the DropBox app or in the DropBox folder on the desktop. Seems to not like scripts that are in a folder that has been moved and renamed.

Ive used the app for a year now, but quite recently it keeps crashing. Every time i open the app it shows my list of scripts but doesnt allow me any accessibility to any of its features and just crashes. Ive tried rebooting and everything. Please get this fixed soon! I will be very upset if i cannot get my scripts back.

Please fix crashing issue soon! I have updated scripts that I cannot access on here. Also, please create way to share updates between Apple devices without having to email.

How does one change the name of a character without having to do a find/replace? This app doesnt even have a find/replace all.

Once again Final Draft proves that theyre totally clueless. They finally release an iPhone version of FD, yet dont optimize it for the phones that could actually make great use of the program (6/6+)? The arrogance of Final Draft is astounding. Im waiting for the day when Fountain is the industry standard, and we can finally leave this program behind.

This is just what I needed on the go. Takes a while getting used to but I am thankful for this

App is perfect for travel when I just want to work quick without having to set up my whole laptop, or my business partner is using the laptop to edit a movie and I still need to write. I also have absolutely no problem using my bluetooth keyboard with this app. I love using this. Unfold my iPad, push one app button and I am into my screenplay.

It was a long time coming but so happy Writer for iPhone is here. I use it all the time to tune up dialogue or read over a scene when I have spare time. Way better than playing Candy Crush!

I cant express enough how incredible and useful the writer app for the iPhone is! I can wait in line at Starbucks and write. The app knows exactly what the user is going to do next and helps the writer create the story at a good pace. The formatting is so simple and the whole program gives the writer a great ease of access so that they dont have to worry about anything except for their story. 5 stars all the way!

Feeling much better now that I have the latest version of my script saved automatically. I missed that from the desktop version and now I have it for the iPhone. Thanks !!

Great app but missing a general hi-lighting function which the Mac OS version does have. I highlight lots of different parts of the script to make it easier to find things. I really need that function. Hope it comes soon.

Writer is exactly the app that writers on the move in today’s market need. Writing or reading pages no longer require for you to be situated in front of the computer. With this app writers can access their script on the go - in the office, during lunch or when waiting in line - keeping their work alive throughout the day, which is sure to lead to greater productivity.

The app just deleted a days work when syncing with Dropbox. Please fix asap.

App seems to be legit, but the fact that you cannot use a bluetooth (even Apple brand) keyboard with the software should be fixed by the devs. And for all you writers out there who havent taken to carrying around a wireless keyboard in your car for use with your iPhone at restaurants, etc... you should! Lighter than carrying around a laptop.

Ive been a long supporter of final draft for years! And I was thrilled when the writer app came to the ipad. I was able to go back and forth between my desktop and my ipad. I am a professional writer, I do this for a living! I need this app! I was excited to see that they put it on the iphone. I finally just upgraded to the iphone 6s plus and to my dismay, not a single bluetooth keyboard ive tried works with this app on the phone. All the keyboards work on the phone for other apps, but not Final Draft!!! Please fix!

I love Final Draft, however lately I have not been able to use this app on my iPad Air 2 since the iOS 9 update. It works fine at first, but then the typing becomes laggy and unresponsive, until the entire app freezes and I lose a good chunk of whatever I was writing. Please, Final Draft, update this app to work with iOS 9.

I am sure its a five-star product but this needs to be updated immediately.

I thought this app was going to eliminate my need for a small notebook… I thought wrong. I dont really use the app anymore. I just use the desktop version on a smaller laptop that I take around everywhere instead of my ipad. bummer
